Any ideas on what this could be?? When I'm doing usually about 110kmh in 5th gear, it's running betweent 2800 and about 3200rpm, I get a really intermittent power loss when the engine isn't under much load. If I put my foot down it clears up, if I back it off, it clears up as well. It also happens if I'm in the lower gears, at about the same RPM setting, with not much load. eg. in 3rd at about 60kmh going up a slight hill. If I don't power up or down and stop it, eventually I get an exhaust gas light. I'm assuming that's exhaust gas overtemp. Theories/discussions appreciated.
Then you are not getting spark under those conditions, or not getting complete combustion to be more precise, as the exhaust temp warning light indicates that unburnt fuel is entering the catalytic converter(s) and burning there instead of in your cylinders. Clean up your Coil pack connectors, CAS and PTU connectors for a start.
That was one of my theories as well. Gonna have to play the diagnosis game. I hate intermittant faults.
basically you need to look at everything on the spark side, eliminate or rule out items as you go. spark plugs coilpacs coil pack connections wiring loom PTU PTU connections CAS CAS connections.
Just adding to Rolin's list added a order of most likely culprits in bold(IMHO) to start working on first. Eliminate each in order.
