K1NGZ is in the process of recording a new gearbox :) the tricky part is converting the gearbox (which is out of a TT) to suit my N/A...

But by the end of today "hopefully" she'll be a goer :)
Anyone keen to help? Ha have already nearly broken my nose and recieved a nice lump on my forehead :-/ not the worlds greatest mechanic

    Research is your friend,

Prior to fitting..... check your gearbox mounts for bad wear and bad shape , check the gearbox seals for leaks (Particurly the rear seal and front seal) , Have a look if there is a leak on your sump pans rear main seal area for a oil leak .

.....What else......check the Pivot ball that the clutch fork maneuvers from , you could check the gear stick's nylon/plastic shifter bushings. And if you can use a clutch alignment tool.
    Good luck.

I think your starter isn't going to reach your flywheel as the TT flywheels are bigger and therefore the bellhousing is bigger too. I might be wrong but apparently there's a way around it. Could fit TT flywheel and clutch maybe. Why not fit an NA box back it?

I know you have to modify something to make it fit as ive read it somewhere...how do you plan on doing the install? Got a hoist? As it would be a PITA to do without a hoist...

Cam's right. Need to take 3mm off the start motor mount face. Or fit a TT fly and clutch. You could change the front half of the gearbox's over, but that is a messy job and you need some gaskets.

Nope didn't have to do that :) removed the flywheel and "altered" it to fit the TT torque converter :) had to swap over the passenger side trans fluid line. And BADZX altered my tail shaft to fit over the TT box and the overall length of the shaft. The only thing left is to re-attach my exhaust :D

What stephen forgot to add was...........

its a kitted AUTO box from a TT & replacing a stock NA auto.

I've redrilled the std NA flywheel to suit the TT torque converter

The passengers side oil pipe has been exchanged (NA one is short by 75mm):(

I've converted the single piece tailshaft so it now has the TT uni & snout :D

box is now in and its only incidentals that remain, starter/zorst/dipsticktube etc
