    Hi All,

For some reason I noticed this week my gear shift stick is really loose. I mean I can still shift into gears 1 to 5 and reverse without a problem, but the actual gear stick is really wobblely, as if its really loose and about to fall off. Its definately not the gear knob, its the actual gear shift stick itself. Do you guys know if its serious and can you give me some advice.

    Cheers,

    Worn shifter bushes.......>>

Grab some new ones from Nissan (they are cheap) and then follow the tech article on how to change them.

I stuck a towel down under the job and made a little nest so if nuts

or bolts fell down they could easily be retrieved - better than having them rattle around on top of the exhaust shields later on

It's really awkward to do though :( I got sick of flogging them out every few thousand k's and ended up putting in bronze ones that are still going 25k later :D AMS sell them.

Sorry for the thread dig (again) guys...but it's still Jan (just!) so its ok..[TIS]

How did you get the bronze bushes on? I tried to when I bought my short-shifter from Caz last year but I ended up getting frustrated and giving up, but I don't exactly have a lot of tools.

I wore the plastic bushes out today, so it's time to swap them. Maybe I should drive to my folks place and see if a bench vice will push them in...?

dunno but what benefit would the roller bushes have?
