The moment you've all been waiting for, we're running a Group Buy on the gauge holder The price for a quantity for at least 10 units is $199.00 including GST and postage to your door Here are some pics of the Dash Gauge Housing: If you want in, then post in this thread your confirmation, and I will PM you my bank account details for you to transfer the funds. We'll run the GB for 3 weeks (I hope that's long enough for everyone to get sorted? If you want it sooner or later then I'll change it based on majority consensus) Cheers, MaTTz
they used to be high gloss black onb the front.. can we get a pic of the new revision like this? and is it still available?
It looks great, but how do you get to the two top screws that secure the centre facia? I assume the hood is secured through the top air holes in that facia. Are they available without covering, and if so, at what price? (My dash is dark blue, not black.)
Can i get one not covered? I'll be up for one of these if i can get it raw, as im about to get my dash reskined and will get the guage housing covered in the same material.
in response to some of the questions, Only the stitched version is available at the moment - a new version will be created and available in about 3-4 months time and that will be non-stitched (basically a single piece of material) The gauge holes are 52mm in size, the new version will facilitate 52/60mm gauges
Without the stitched cover, You can purchase the resin shell for $164.00 This is without the stitched material cover. Then you can do what you like with it - paint it glossy or wrap it in a different colour material etc.
I'm interested in an uncovered one (I'll get it done to match my blue dash). What about my question re: the top screw access on the centre facia panel?
i'm in not waiting 4 or 5 months for a non-stitched one, so put me down for a stitched one please, my oil gauge is cactus and i don't want to buy the oem unit i already have gauges cheers
Guys I'll post up some installation instructions which may hopefully answer Chili's qn I'll post up pics of the non-covered ones tonight when i get home from work When we get the numbers to confirm that it'll go ahead, I'll give everyone the transfer details and we'll close the GB and that'll be it no point in transferring funds until we have 10 takers
Pics and Instructions Those are the bare units without the stitched cover. Installation Instructions: OPTION - 1?? The Unit can be attached to the upper centre console (shown in image ? 4), by way of screws fitted through drilled holes in the front left hand corner and the front right hand corner of the Unit itself. These two holes are not pre-drilled. These two hole positions are shown in Image - 1 Two corresponding holes can then be drilled into the inside lower level of the top air vent consul as shown in Image - 2 This is further illustrated on the left hand pattern shown in Image ? 3 The type of screws are up to you. They can either have chrome, stainless steel, black, or allan-key type heads etc. We would suggest self-tapping screws would be best. Image ? 1 shows exactly where the Unit fits on the dash, but as you can see we have not predrilled it. OPTION ? 2?? Exactly the same as Option - 1, but there is no need to drill holes in the unit itself. You still drill the same two holes into the consul as in Option ? 1. This time instead of screws we have supplied two plastic ?Christmas Tree? plugs. These plugs can be stuck to the underside of the front of the unit in similar positions where the two holes as in Option ? 1 would have been drilled. NOTE ? The heads on these plugs may need to be filed down or snipped to fit under the front bar of the Unit. There are no plugs of that length that have smaller heads. We chose the larger heads because of the larger surface area that can have adhesive applied to assist in successful cementing of the two surfaces. I you prefer shorter shafts and smaller heads these can be obtained from your local Auto Hardware Store. We also suggest that you trim away an area of the vinyl under the front bar of the Unit to allow the plug heads to stick directly to the fibre glass. Once these plugs are stuck to the Unit it can then be attached to the consul by simply pushing the two plug shafts into the holes that you have drilled. To remove the Unit from the consul simply slide a flat blade under the head of each of the plugs and very carefully lever the unit off the consul. OPTION ? 3?? This Option requires no holes to be drilled. The unit can be permanently fixed to the Upper Centre Consul by using an adhesive product called ?Sikaflex ? 227?. This is a hard drying product and will stick your Unit to the Upper Centre Consul permanently. The Unit can only be removed when you remove the Upper Centre Consul with the Unit attached to it. NOTE ? We suggest you only use this option if you are absolutely certain you want the Unit permanently fixed to the Upper Centre Consul. Image ? 3 shows, in the Right Hand Pattern, the five suggested spots to apply the Adhesive. OPTION ? 4?? This is exactly the same as Option ? 3, BUT- it requires the use of a soft drying, non-permanent sealer. This way the Unit can be fixed in place without the use of screws or plugs or hard drying adhesive. Removal is easier too, simply lightly and carefully lever the Unit off with a thin blade. The Product we suggest you use in this Option is the Soft Drying ?Sikaflex ? 711? NOTE ? We are not agents or dealers for Sikaflex Products. Any product of equivalent capability can be used. THE GAUGE WIRING CAN BE RUN DOWN THROUGH THE TOP AIR VENT OF THE CONSUL WITHOUT THE NEED TO DRILL HOLES INTO THE DASH ITSELF THE DASH GAUGE HOUSING HAS BEEN MANUFACTURED TO FIT YOUR ZED DASH WITH OR WITHOUT YOU HAVING A DASH KIT FITTED. WE TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE INCORRECT INSTALLATION OF THIS PRODUCT. IF YOU ARE UNSURE, TAKE IT TO A PROFESSIONAL.
Automatic shift stick/knob Mattz I said you a PM, where can I buy the automatic shift/stick knob as in the pic. Does it have a lock-out button and overdrive switch
haha sorry to laugh dude, but I'm pretty sure that's all the vent does on some models however, it doubled up as an intercooler so you may have sluggish performance at high boost... ;-) PS: when you block one vent, the same amount of air still comes out of your system, it's just that the other vents blow abit harder
Current Status Current Numbers looking like: in: maTTz Tokyo Geoff Zealous (unstitched) Chili (unstitched) blackheartedprofit And maybe in: Bigbaz (unstitched) Minivan (unstitched) Keep 'em coming guys! We need 10 people to go ahead
lol I realise the question sounds stupid, but I don't understand why any designer would stick a non directional vent in the middle of the dash. The only conceivable reason I can come up with is because of the climate control. If the driver had both centre vents closed, then that upper vent can still operate to adjust the temperature but not be blowing directly at the occupents. However once covered up by this gauge holder, I'm wondering if it would have an affect on the CC's ability to maintain a selected temp. I'm guessing the effect would be insignificant as like you said the blockage would just make the alternate vents blow a little harder. But this raises the question of uniform temperature dispersal........I think i'm thinking into this whole thing a little too much.... hahaha.....i'll still probably buy one ; ) That is after I buy a polished air guide and nose panel at any rate. Gotta have priorities
