I have just found my TT purging fuel out of the fuel filler. Car has been sitting, not driven since last night. I am assuming that the fuel is expanding from the heat of the day but it has never leaked before. Would it be a dodgy fuel cap of something else?

The filler /reducer for the unleaded fuel has lost it's ability to seal. You need to remove it from the pipe and reseal it.

It could be the cap maybe???, but it's far more common for the compliancing company to not seal it off properly and after a short time it starts to leak.

    not normal at all

the check valve should have opened to the carbon canister at around 5psi, also the filler neck has a vacuum relief valve, check them both, its in the manual.

when amanda bought her blue zed. the previous owner had it parked for a week or so. was just nearing empty. so we filled it up so have about 10L of fuel siphon itself out of the filler hole and onto the cement at the servo... after a bit there was a big blurp sound. must have been an air pocket that got trapped under the incoming fuel to which pushed the fuel out... was a mess.

never happened since though... hopefully it was a once off event.

check the surround glue/sealant and see if its what was letting it out.

Thanks guys. There was a puddle on the driveway and considdering how quickly it evaporates it was about the size of a base ball hat! The zed was parked on near enough level ground. I'll be checking both the filler neck and the check valve over the coming days. Now that i think back, i dont remember hearing the whoosh or venting sound when i took the fuel cap off when i filled up either.
