Ok this has had me and my mechanic bamboozled for about 3 days.
Since i have owned the zed it has travelled about 2000k yes i know its a lot in 3 weeks but it did 1400k back from brisbane to townsville.
In the last week it has started to develop a smell of fuel after it has been driven, it only smells after it is shut down and not while it is running. the worst part about this is no visible sign of fuel or burnt fuel at all anywere. it is definately up the front of the car but be stuffed if we can find it.
Anyone know of any common places on a zed to start looking?

    Fuel damper and regulator hoses

Make sure you tighten the clanps on the damper and pressure regulator. There is a hose that runs off underneath and is easily overlooked. Leaks are not uncommon around this time of the year when the weather suddenly turns cold.

    Found :YD

thanks guys we found it up on the hoist, was a tiny tiny pin hole (not even that) that after the car was shut off it sprayed a very very fine mist out.

How about some details on the exact>

location and fix. Mine has also developed a petrol smell, with NO signs of a leak, and ALL clamps re-tigthened.:( Cheers

    Sorry Lloyd didnt think........

ok it was in the main feeder pipe leading into the engine bay underneath the car(wont name it cause id be wrong :p), after the car was shut off and the fuel was still under initial pressure it was escaping through what the mechanic described as a perished section of hose as a fine spray (was in a straight section of hose ), hence no really visible signs. Was just lucky we had it on the hoist and ran it whilst looking for it or we'd still be there.
