There are cycles, but from working at a servo i can tell you it's more to do with supply and demand. demand is biggest on weekends and late night shopping (Thursday) which is also when the price is highest.

in QLD, we have a supposed 8 cent fuel subsidy .. the

fuel companies even rip part of that off ..

and believe it or not .. i well recall paying 54 cents a litre in early 1999, shortly after arriving on the coast .... aarrrhhh, the good old days .....!!!!!

    see thats just greedy.

Ever since I was a simple child (erm maybe i still am one lol) I have thought....

"If the price for something is less, more people will buy, and so you'll make more money"

See, if there is a period of "high demand" thats when a company can afford to lower the price

If the demand is low, it makes sence you have to higher the price to make up for less sales.

ok maybe this isn't a good example, but airline tickets is....

Off peak (non school holidays) you can get flights internationaly for almost HALF the price of school holiday time

    Why?

Coz less people are going on hols

    So?

    Thats just greedy.

The price should remain the same, or even, it should be MORE for off peak coz its only companies sending fat sales men all over the place, and then CUT the price for the average jo to take his kids to disney land.

DAMN the world will be an awsome place when i come to power.

All this AND honest car sales ;) what more could you want?

Ever looked at a map recently? Look how far away W.A is! lol No wonder you guys pay more for fuel. Just pay it! Would you not feed your kids because food got expensive? It's a Z, feed it the life blood it needs! That's half the fun of it hehe! "zomg look how much fuel I burned just then wahooo" :D

Vbevan is right about the prices too, I've been told that aswell. Tuesday-Wednesdays is the best day to get your fuel at most stations apparently...

But, the fuel arrives here, well up north of here anyhow.

It's funny, petrol ships arrive in Port Hedland, it gets shipped down to Perth to get measured etc. then sent back up to Port Hedland and sold for stupid prices cause of the round trip LMAO.

what kinda average house but... if the average house is a 4x2 then chances are you have 3 maybe 4 people in the house meaning your rent is only $87.5-$116
    which isnt too bad...

and if its 350 for a 1 bedroom apartment... then get out of the rich suburbs..

Back to the subject tho, I was paying 1.38 to 1.45 for 98ron but then lost my license and went on a holiday so about 8months after my last tank of gas I picked up my new fuel guzzler (RX-8) and now I was dreading filling up but I can now get 98 for the same price or less  the price of normal fuel has gone up but the price of 98ron hasn?t change at some places it was 10-15cents more now its only 5cents more

$400,000 for 3 br, 1 bathroom average homes in the outer western suburbs(60kms from the City, and definitely not the "rich" areas). Average rental in the same areas is $350 pw for a 2 br unit($400-500 for 3 br home).:eek:
Reality is a difficult pill to swallow.

I always wanted to learn CAD.

I need to catch up with one of you two and discuss qualifications and career advice.

Im sick of IT. Its dead end unless you work for yourself. But what I really dont like about it anymore is its one of those jobs where people only come to you because there's a "problem", and then once you've fxed that problem, any future problems are your fault.

Thats why I'd never do it as my own business. The lack of understanding from the average jo is dangerouse lol.

    Fool lol

You can only house share for so long. Eventually you "get married' and "have kids" and then, if you're trying to run a nice stable family where the kids at least know 1 of the 2 parents, wife stays at home while you become the sole earner and pay for that nice little 4/2 all on your own.

Welcome to the real world ;)

holy shit, i swear gold coast is one of the most expensive places to live. youd never get a house like that for 385 a week, and fuel well i think were paying nearly 1.50 a litre for premium bp.

    I think we need to....

I think we need to organize a 'Group Buy' for fuel, I hear super tankers are pretty good value over in the Persian Gulf about now. (Free pirates included!) ... Anyhow, the ACCC are starting up a new petrol importer soon, if they get a buyer. They will be allowed to source fuel as they want, unrestricted like the other vendors. So petrol will be under hard competition, as it will now be ok to buy from Asian areas. I will only say this much, pending the new company's creation, buy your big fuel sucking upgrades before then. :)

Here comes the intercooler! ouuuuh, should I buy Ashspec or go Greddy again.... Hmmm, screw it, I'm going to buy the fuel truck strap-on! :D
