Hey guys, need to go to the shops to pick up some new fuel hoses as my are starting to get really old and ridged. Anyone here replaced their fuel lines. Did you use stock hoses or anything different or special ???

Also when cleaning the electronic plugs, i know i have seen a special tool that is designed to get right into the conectors and get rid of all the green oxedation whatever ... Wondering if anyone has bought one and might know what its called???

    I use 7.5mm ID EFI hose...>>

and I regard using the correct hose clamp and installing it correctly to be just as important as the type and quality of the hose.

    Cheers

PS: I re-use the old clamps except I replace the screw with a SS hex bolt.

adrian, connectors .. "wurth" system cleaner is tops if you can get

hold of it ..otherwise "inox" is a good cleaner .. for less than $5 you can purchase a set of 10 mini files from supercrap or similar .. perfect for finishing off the cleaning/corrosion removal.....

I used 8mm hoses, and yes you need to make sure it is 30R9. This will be prtinted on the side of the hose if not WALK AWAY you don't want to take chances with this stuff. It's expensive but worth doing right. I reused my old clamps but you may whish to change to Wurth style etc

As far as the cleaning I just bought an electrical contact clean and lube from JayCar, along with a small set of files. I reckon an electronics store or somewhere that caters to computer repairs and the like would be the place to look for files.

Just get ss braided hose, you can get it for about $11/foot now. 1500psi bu

rst pressure and better than any type of rubber hose you will find unless you move up to hydraulic which would start costing you about $50/foot for the good stuff.

Wouldn't you need different fittings to use braided hose?

No, you can buy cheap slip on fittings with the worm clamp which work

    fine.

Rob, check with your insurer re braided hose & worm drive clamps

They may deny cover in event of an engine-bay fire.

Worm drive clamps are not recommended for EFI.

    Suggest using mini-abba clamps only.

2nd Rob - worm drive clamps chew into the hose too much.

    Not recommended.

I don't know how a worm drive clamp could chew into braide, but anyway, the

worm drive ones (AN) style, are designed not to chew into hose.

I agree a worm gear clamp over braided hose will never harm the hose.

    I just wouldn't
