    Hi,
Got new tyres yesterday and had planned for an alignment too but the bloke doing it said the drivers side tie rod end at the front is stuffed and needs to be replaced before alignment.

The Nissan genuine part is $163.80. Which is hideous.

Just wondering if anyone knows where i can get a non-genuine part. Need to get it done ASAP as my alignment is really bad and I don't want to munt my fresh lovely treads.

As a side note the reason for new tyres was that the old ones were BADLY worn on the inside 2/3". Have installed new adjustable rear upper links (camber arms) to sort it out at the rear and I'm just waiting on the front arms from the UAS buy to come through at which stage I'll have to get another alignment done. Shame the timing wasn't a bit different; would be nice to do one alignment and get it sorted for the new tyres but they were on the belts and couldn't wait. The rear camber is much worse than the front anyway.
    Thanks
    Sam

i replaced mine with genuine ones off a wreck. IIRC $20~ each and they were in much better nick than mine.

check wreckers first and put up a wanted here. price will vary quite a lot so offer them half of what they ask for and see how u go.

Pedders should sell them. I bought lower ball joints from Pedders a few years ago and they had tie rod ends listed on the computer when they were looking up the part number for the ball joint.

    OK I got some, but..

Firstly cheers for all your replies.

I got some from a local store. They are a bit shorter (25-40mm) than the originals. They were listed as the ones in the parts book but yeh not the same length. Will these work or am I looking to a wrecker or pedders?

It's hard to see how they can possibly be alright, if they are that much shorter(when assembled, they must be the same length as the originals or you're going to have fun getting them aligned).

Yeh cheers I've just got the old one out and it is definitely not going to work. On with finding another alternative. Unfortunately it is a Sat I'll see how I go.

Thanks to all that replied for your help. I got a used one in good nick from the good blokes at Adelaide Z Cars this morning. Got it installed and took it over for an alignment. All good now. Haven't given it a really good go yet but impressed with the Adrenalins so far. :)
    Thanks again
