hey all. trying to fit the new front bumper i got to my zed, after i fitted my fmic, the black bar that holds the lights doesnt fit, and the blinker holders dont even fit, so i was wondering if there were any tricks or ways that anyone knows of that can help me get the lights in the car.

If it matters the front bar is the bomex one and the fmic is the one that was on here in the group buy and my car is a TT 2+2.

So yeah any help would be great cos i think blinkers are a little helpful and i should keep them.

ohhhhh ok, ill work on loading them up tonight, thought u guys might know of a quick fix that i could use. Just thought there might be some after market holders that are popular on the different front bumpers. Appreciate the need for pics though and will load them soon.

not necessarily, is it a side by side Front Mount, or the type available on ebay? Managed to get my FMIC to fit behind the front reo bar without any modifications to the bar. As an indication of how far back it sits, I had to rotate the rubber intake Y-Piece so that the Pod filter is sitting on a slight rear angle. Come time to fit the front spoiler however, had to trim the 10mm lip off of the top of the reo bar. Everything fits perfectly after that.

ditch the rio bar or just chop the hell out of it. cut mine up first then just ended up gettin rid of it but you still gotta be able to mount the foggies.

why ditch it? unless running a SBS front mount, which I haven't checked the feasability of maintaining the front reo bar for, why would you want to discard something that not only gives you mounting points for your front bar indicators/ spotlights, plus mounting points for the front spoiler itself (top underside of the bomex frog-mouth duct, same points as as the original front bar secures), but also gives you some frontal protection in the event of a collision? The top lip only takes 10 minutes to remove (wafer cutting disk on a grinder) and the front reo bar slides perfectly within the bomex style bar (at least the ebay copy one).
Fitting the FMIC as far back as possible, so that the front reo bar clears it not only allows you to maintain some of the original structural integrity of the vehicle, but it also positions the intercooler piping further back, meaning less cutting of the spoiler to get clearance for both the cooler and the associated piping.

my 5c at least, caus my opinion has to be worth more :p

got my front mount from a group buy on here and could only be mounted in one position which meant cutting out a fairly hefty chunk from the rio. i figured it wasn't going to do sweet FA in a collision like that so why bother messing around with it. but if you can get it to fit with minimal probs then go for it.

I drove around for ages without the reo with my FMIC.

One day when I had the front bar off again I decided to mod the reo to get it to fit... I ended up cutting slits in the reo bar with the hacksaw and pounding bits off with the hammer :bash:

Was easy enuf to do. Basically I found that it was mostly the intercooler piping that was fouling. The end result was grooves or trenches for the piping to run in and the reo bar stayed in one solid bit. Foggies remain attached in the original locations :)

A bit of trial and error but all done in about an hour:zlove:
