Can anyone point me in the direction of some good front bar removal docs, as I have a 2K that I wish to install.

I've seen some posts that say you don't have to take the lights out, but from where I'm looking, I can't see how you can leave them in!!

    Cheers

checked the tech section? there is an article in there, type "front bar removal" into the search field and it will be the first result.
i used that guide when i removed my front bar, you don't need to take off the low/high beam lights but you will need to remove the indicators.
the only thing that I found the article missed was the 2 bolts in intake vent above the number plate. if you look closely in this pic just above the number plate in the vent there are 2 bolt holes. maybe his car did not have these bolts installed before but mine did and I couldn't get the bar off until I removed them.

    - nose panel off 4 x 10mm bolt (2 in each bottom corner).
    - side corner indicators off 2 x 8mm bolts "i think" ( bumper to diagonal line on guard).
    - wheel liner splash guard (few philips head screws).
    - screws along the bottom

No longer than half hour to do, they are all pretty visible

There's 3 on each guard where you reach from the indicator slots.
All accociated bolts and nuts are 10mm. And then there's your splash guard and the 4 bolts under nose panel as mentioned plus inner guard liners in the wheel arches, not 100% with those, I don't think they're attached to the bar.

Okay, just finished getting it off!

There was an ugly botch job including metal braces, 8mm nuts, cable ties and some sort of black silicon holding partly destroyed shroud on to the bar and in turn, holding the bar to the car.

I had to cut and tear through the silicon to get it off!! BAH HUMBUG! I have a lot of cleaning to do before putting the 2K on.

Does anyone know the best place to get new under car shroud from (please don't say Nissan!)

    Man I'm tired!

Reverse off a steep driveway. Its one of the quickest ways to remove a front bar.:p

    No way.

He'd never do that! I hope! Looks like a quick fix done by a cheap body shop.

PS. Do you not sleep Tom?

Well the bar is partially installed, but I'm having trouble lining it up with the fenders, not that I had much time last night!
I'm going to keep doing small adjustments until I get a good result, however if anyone has any good tip / tricks I'm all ears! :p

Okay, have got the front bar on! Will post pics asap and would love a bit of feedback!

Am a bit concerned with the side screws and I really hope I don't loose the bar on the southern expressway! I think it looks hot, might end up putting grill mesh on, but I don't want it to look housing trust.

put the mesh on but spray it black first. or get black mesh.

if youre worried about screws coming loose from the plastic try those metal clips that you screw into to reinforce it.

    upload the pics!!

Okay, somebody please back me up here! Mind you this is the first body operation I have performed!

Has anyone installed a JDM front bar?
Did you have any issues such as...

Lining up the bar with the fender?
The nose panel being too low?
The front rubber on the nose panel being too squashed?
The sides of the bar having too much gap?

I have spent tonight trying to solve these issues. I have manged to line up the fenders and at least got the nose panel on. (Although with much frustration and I may possibly be single now because I accidentally hit my g/f in the head with a ratchet!)
The nose panel is almost flush but only because it is not screwed down properly.

Am frustrated as all hell...this is supposed to be a JDM bolt on!!!

I'm sure a panel beater could do this no probs, I am just one who wants/needs/likes to do it all by himself!

    End of Line

Want me to bring my Z around so we can test fit it on mine?
I promise I won't drive off as soon as its secure enough to not fall off at speed.
