well i wish it would backfire... that would mean it's getting fuel. i did the bypass coz it wont idle, cut the white wire and grounded it. started it aaaaaaaannnnndddd then it stopped... NO FUEL... tried again it wouldnt start. put the ground wire back to the clip and turned it over a few times and it started... very very rough but the way it was... why isnt the bypass working??? and more to the point how do i make the bloody car run???
is it at the same plug? no i haven't, the tech section says to leave the black and blue wires hooked up... please tell me he who i hopped would reply, what do i unplug?????? lol
sounds like a tech article is needed for fpcu bypass. and fpcu removal using a relay, running the pump off the battery
For a 2+2 ONLY, you MUST leave the plug disconnected from FPCU and ground out the white wire. 2-seater bypass is a little more complex.
i have a 2 seater NA... the 2 seater tech article says just ground that wire and leave the others conected... so do i just need to disconnect the FPCU or what do i need to do?
that is the article i read. and that is what i have done and that is what didn't work lol... doesnt get any fuel when i do that, initially all i did was gut the white wire and ground it, maybe their still has to be continuity in the white wire like a t piece if that makes sense. i tried unplugging the FPCU too like chrispy and that didnt work either. any thoughts?
Im not sure what you guys are on about but, whats the story mate?, i take it your not getting fuel up front? how'd you come to that conclusion, if that is the case, can you hear the pump? have you got power there?
it will still run, leans out on revs and stumbles and stalls when the cold start map shuts off. will still runs but just, first found out its fuel when we put it on the dyno and the mech said stage one of the fuel system is rat shit. leads me to believe FPCU... also it seems to be getting worse... would this indicate pump? also i can't hear the pump. when i did the bypass, just as depicted it doesnt get any fuel whatsoever..... thoughts?
I think that there is a test procedure in the service manual to test the FPCU, maybe have a look in there
$90 posted. If its leaning out. Check the fuel regulator, fuel pump, and make sure the FPCU is going to high speed under load.
do u know to do this? i have checked the manual and it doesnt have a procedure to test the FPCU only the pump and the relay...
You would need a multimeter and make sure the pump i running at 13.4 volts when you think its going lean. That would rule out the FPCU. To check the other stuff you need a fuel pressure guage
