    Dont put synthetic oil in

    for the first 5,000 klms.

The damn stuff is too good and the engine wont bed in. Use that Pennsoil break in oil or some ordinary mineral oil for that 5000klms then change to Mobil 1 or similar.

    Dont know about the pistons:cool:

Here is a website for breaking in secrets

    http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

    some tips in point form
    • Mineral Oil for first 500km or so. Oil change frequently.
    • Open the throttle up fully, but dont use lots of boost if its a turbo.
    • Never cruise at a certain rpm for lon g periods. Always vary the rpm.
    • Always warm up the car before you drive off. Revving a cold engine is a sure way to wear it out. Dont let it idle for too long though. Just drive under 3Krpm or so until its fully warmed up.
    • Dont drive like a granny a ll the time.
    • Drive with a higher load at low rpm. Eg going uphill in a higher gear than normal.

If you want to keep it lasting for a while use this

If I am wrong on any point, feel free to correct it. Personally, I like the idea of using a dyno to run an engine in :)

    piston noise

lots of forged pistons are a bit noisey until warm. Some more than others depending on the amount of silicon in the piston from memory. They expand as they warm and then become a nice snug fit.
