that cross member modification does not look good to me at all, i would have been changing the sump or something else. be sure to get it checked and engineered and if they do pass it i would inspect it periodically, especially around the welds

Wouldnt the bulk of the load be taken up by the 2 bolts on either side where he has retained the stock portion of the crossmember. The modded bit would just be for stability and to hold the Steering Rack? PS I dont know shit about this stuff, just a general observation :)

It'll have some funky twisting moments on it during cornering. I'm not a big fan of the design and I think it could be improved on. But I'd mod the sump before the crossmember. Front sumps are fail.

yea im now doing a sump mod and using standard xmember. The bump steer is not as bad as i thought it would be but it is a shit. So now everything else is done the sump is going to be easy.

the car sits 15mm higher at the front than standard vg to. Car seems lighter to. Next zed will be a vh45 for sure.

the direct load from the motor is the easy bit, its the flex and twisting forces from during conering that will be the big issue. the front crossmember is the backbone of the front end. very very important.

yea its only a short pipe from turbo to pod. Im in the planning to twin turbo it now. Using the vg plenum using to gt28 turbos. Should be fun.

the xmember is a bit differant to whats in the picture. Its been all braced up and gussets all over the show now. The rack is only about 15mm back from stock. There are two tube braces that are bolted to the section that the xmember is bolted to. But its all coming out this weekend for the stock one to go back in and sump mod over the weekend.

lol yea that red 3bond was on there from japan. I use the black stuff. I was wondering wtf was going to be wrong with the motor with that much on there. But she was all good

not quiet sure about capacity is now but im going to make an oil res in line of me external oil filter. can that be done?

Yes, that could be done. But won't help with starvation issues. The main thing is to avoid exposing the pickup to air while it's running. I'd add a Accusump in like I did. If the pickup does get a gutfull of air the Accusump will make up the lost oil and pressure to compensate.

Do you have any pics of how yours is set up? at the end of the day i think ill make a larger cap sump. i have the pickup right at the bottom of the sump to. its like 4.5mm from the bottom.
