I have just pulled the gearbox, clutch and flywheel out of our"90" TT cause it spun the clutch and want to know if the flywheel I have is an aftermarket one or std. It is totally flat across the face except for the locating pins ,the ringgear is taked on but the rear is scolloped out heaps so the flywheel is very light. It is a steel flywheel....John

A picture tells a thousand words. Everything you mentioned makes it sound like a stock flywheel, except when you said its light... Stock flywheels are heavy mofo's.

Sounds like my JUN. Put up a piccy. The standard one in a TT has a stepped face where the clutch disc mates. Standard one is 10-12kg at a guess mine is about 5kg.

It is in being faced at the moment but it was flat across the face ,I will also weigh it ,but I said it was light because I have spent many years and still do have some very tough V8 and Blown V8 powered cars and we can make them as light as possable but still not as light as this...cheers guys i will post a pic if I can get it back this afternoon!!
