    Hey all

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to fit a hose thats smaller then whats intended to fit inside it? (Doing the heater core by-pass atm) I bought some hose thats 19mm (Grommet) and the outlet/inlet to the engine is apparently 20mm... could be my crappy measuring.. but it still won't fit on =(

If anyone with another car starts to complain they have no room to work on there car.. im going to slap them with my bleeding hand!! =)

    Thanks in advance all!

Heat the hose end in boiling water ...

Then apply some detergent as lube to inside lip. Should go on ok.

unca mark, aka "k-y for life" recommends ...?????

... and for engine bay hoses i find "lanogard" (super cheap, autobarn, repco etc ..) pretty good ...

I highly recommend silicon spray, its very good for cleaning rubber and lubricating them. Just need to use plenty when pushing one hose inside another one. This is a very effective method for putting the hose covers back onto the heater core hoses and the fuel line hoses.

    i did the same job

    only took 20 mins
get a stanley knife n thin the inside of the first 20 mm of both ends of the hose then another trick.
put some oil inside the hose end your trying to fit and it should slide on like a charm.

when i did it i originally tried to cram the hose on.. took 2 hours to get 20 mm of jst one end of the hose on.. doin that took 20mins to do the whole job

Sorry bout the lateness in getting back to everyone.. just fitted the hoses (Thanks for the advice all, took bits an pieces from everyone.. even the K.Y. jelly ;)) (Not sure that there on enough, but took a test run and they held up, might need to squeeze them on more).

Thanks too everyone who helped me with my heater core prob!! (To the tech section too!) - Will be replacing the heater core just before winter comes around again =)
