I have finally made my mind up on what rims i wanted. I was gonna go with Speedy Hp Design rims like sim300 but then i decided to go for more of a futuristic 'different' look. Just wondering what you guys thought of: i got a quote from my local tyrepower center and they said $1950. This includes: 19" Medusa 5/114-3 . 35 off 245/35/19 Wanli 1099 spaces to make the correct offset for rims Fitting, balancing and nismo lock nuts :zlove: I am aware that i will need a camber adjustment, so when i get my tein super streets and adjustable front and rear upper camber arms, i can get them adjusted to suit the new rims... Does $1950 sound like a decent deal? Thank you in advance :zlove:
They look good. My friend has similar wheels on his silver rexy and they suit his car. Are you getting spacers because it doesn't clear your calipers or because it doesn't clear suspension components on the inner edge? My car came with spacers when I bought it, it was only for looks because the previous owner in Japan wanted the wheels to be pushed out abit. I took them off because they were illegal and even with the larger TT calipers I still had clearance as the wheels that were on the car were suited to cars running larger calipers. Point I'm trying to make is, I wouldn't put a spacer on my car just to get the wheel to fit, spend a little bit more money and get wheels that will actually fit your car without spacers, even if it means you can only afford 18's. You'll probably find a similar design that fits your car with no mods. Also, I reckon spend abit more on your tyres.
i don't really like them. too busy for my tastes, but then i'm probably relatively conservative/minimal as far as Z styling goes..
Seconded, black rims can look hot but avoid getting too busy.. just detracts from the lines of the car.
Yeah... i dont know if ill like them or not.. but they should look good on it... i love advanti rims :zlove: how does the price sound?
mmm they only come in max 8 inch....legally you can run a max of 235 on them...245 will fit but wouldnt be legal and thats the limit you would go on an 8inch wheel.... id look into something bigger dude, especially for the rears you'd want something like 8.5 minimum, 9inch would be perfect to run a pair of 265's....265's on the rears of the zed just look absolutly mental.
u gotta get some dish dish rims look best on a 300 cos our cars have that fat arse which looks wicked workmeisters are pretty good.
i agree with daz on the dish side of things Dished rims look great on a zed ,good luck with your decision, its always a hard one when picking out wheels Chad is also spot on with the width as well, you wont get a very wide tyre on an 8" rim ,in a perfect world i would say try and get a 9 inch rim with a 265 on it :zlove:
You don't need a 9 inch wheel on the rears, there's plenty of zed's going around on stock wheels. That said, I've got 8's on the front and 9's on the rears and I like the mismatched dish look. Also, I spoke to rik about new tyres for my rear's and he said a 255 is a better fit to a 9 inch rim. Too much rubber isn't good either. I'd still be turned away by rims that require a spacer to fit. Even if you like the way they look (which is what matters, not what others think), you put yourself at risk by fitting spacers and insurance companies don't cover unroadworthy cars.
Suggested tire width when mounted on: 7.5": 225 mm 8": 235 mm 8.5": 245 mm 9": 255 mm 9.5": 265 mm 10": 275mm note: give or take 10 mm. I.E. you can put 245s or 265s on 9" wide rims.
3rd J4's comments. Just how heavy are these in 19s? You'll need to be a bit more careful in choosing wheels for NAs. Without TT torque, heavy wheels will not only kill acceleration but also handling.
spacers ... NO, NO, NO .... full stop... .. there are heaps of top wheels for the zed out there w/out heading down the spacer route .... !!!
Final decision on rims? What about wheels? I like to buy my wheels with rims personally... (lol ignore me, pet peeve of mine)
chad since when do i listen to you? :zlove: Interior... if i knew how hard that was, i wouldn't have started that myself... and as for the tyre... you think 245's are illegal and could void my insurance?
Yeah i would go with a 9" on the rear, but advanti dont make them i really liked the Speedy HP Design Mk II, but they are about $2200 What about the actual tyre brand, wanli? i haven't even heard of them...
what are wrong with spacers? i was under the impression import cars had to have spaces... like skyline's silvia 300zx's ect so no one has spaces?
Take your time with wheels and get a set that fit right, don't fit spacers unless you have to buy the rught size and offset and you wont need them. When you consider the wheels you fit can make or break your cars looks, its worth waiting and saveing up a few more pennies to get it right. And yes deep dish are a must IMHO and the wider the better 9.5 inch is bang on for the rear and 8.5 front, but I have seen wider.
