You betcha! Something for the NA guys... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_AS6kVUTK0 166rwkw, no spray! It sounds wicked, has a nice exhaust burble on decell...
I think you can tell by watching the vid it's pretty quick...for an NA. Would run rings around your NA anyway Chrispy! lols
Thought you might be excited to see an NA that actually drives. lol The 300kg curb weight difference helps though...
I think it's hot! Beware...shameless NA Jaz plug riiiiight now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYSCDW_F6b4 Sorry! Had to share my love of NA! Ads
Thats pretty good numbers for a NA v6, my mate surpercharged a vxv6 commonhore with 14 psi and only made 178kw atw and it cost him 12gs
To the NA's credit the real test would be if you own a turbo is to set it to 0psi and see how much power you make. In the USA this is actually the first (and only to my knowledge) documented NA making more than 200rwhp, and it did it by a fair margin aswell.
Um no... The turbo engine has lower compression to begin with... They are built that way for a reason. Turbos! Test would be invalid...
Completely irrelevant, you can still run high comp pistons in a turbo if you know what you're doing... Alot of people are who have a solid setup. And there are those that have done an NA to turbo conversion, who are running the exact same internals as the NA with the same compression. This is a common swap in the Z31 community, and is far less of a headache than with the Z32. Yeah big cams, cam gears, custom upper intake manifold, likely some port/polishing of lower intake/heads, headers and big exhaust etc There's also another SOHC NA rumoured to be pushing around 260rwhp with ITBs... This motor is from a Z in Finland, which suprisingly there are some crazy quick Z cars in Finland. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfRwqC3jkAk
Who really cares what power an NA makes? lmao, it's sort of like what we used to call sporster harley's ie: "half a harley" so an NA is kinda like "half a Z"
Local high power NA Z32's There are at least a couple of NA Z32's on this forum making similar power. Jedi's at 155rwKw (manual) and mine (DREDZ) at 145rwKw (auto), both equivalent to 210+ rwhp. Neither is as extensively modified as that Z31, and both a bit heavier. Given transmission losses, both are near the stated flywheel power figure provided by Nissan for the TT version.
fast NA was a nice thought... i even spent a bit of money trying to make it happen and ignored the many ppl telling me not to bother. ye it certainly wasnt a slow car but it wasnt what ide call 'fast'. now ive come to my senses and whacking turbos in
10-20rwkw is a massive difference when you're talking about NAs. It takes alot of work and know-how to achieve that kind of power increase with the VG. Yes $ per kw is huge compared to turbo'd VGs. No use having your head in the clouds thinking an NA can hold a light to a turbocharged Z, yes even in the twisties! lol This is still cool though!
