hey zedders quick question... does the 1991 series come with Recaros as an option... ive seen a zed with the 300zx Recaros... but im trying to figure out if it got them from factory or have they just been bolted in... Either way they are 300zx Recaro's like the ones SIMON was posting about some time back... but were they available in all series 1s im not sure? Cheers Frank
erm.. the seats Simon posted were NOT Recaros, they were late model 1996 seats with 300zx embroidered on them. Late model ('97~) zeds had Recaros as an option, but not early zeds. -Kirill
ill let simon check that... Im very sure he was dribbling about Recaros not long ago... either that or im on some wacky backy... Thanks for your info... so if this 1991 2+0 has 300zx recaros there not from factory... the pics dont even tell me if the drivers is electric... here they are :zlove:
Search reveals... http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=281573&highlight=recaro You only set your seat once...
thats my point... his title asked if they were recaro's... So it seems this car is a 1991 with 1997 seats? Edit: any one sat in these ? any good? do they have recaro on them stiched?
No problems. Yeah i already gave Simon some crap about not knowing the difference between zed seats and Recaros! But back to your question, in your pic, that's Recaros and they were installed aftermarket. Most likely they're not electric, but it is possible to use the electric control of standard seats to move the Recaros / Other racing buckets up and down if you modify the standard rail to suit the Recaros (A member here did this with his Brides). However even if you do this, they still won't recline with the button, you'd have to use the manual knob to recline them. Hope that helps. Cheers, -Kirill
It would seem... they pop up for sale every now and then on yahoo jpn, ive also seen em for sale here in oz as well...
Azzuro, most likely the Recaros aren't actually out of a zed. It would be much easier / cheaper to buy Recaros from anywhere and modify the standard seat rail than finding actual Recaros from a late model zed. Also, I think the Recaros from the zed had a different pattern on their cushions.. -Kirill
Thanks Kirill have you ever sat in these items? they look too firm for the zed... but thats the whole idea of recaros.. :bash:
they dont seem to be out of a R33 or something... they have the Zed 2 tone theme... doesnt mean they are real.. This car is for sale.. going to have a look at this black TT 2+0 and wanted to do some homework thats all.
Most Recaro seats of that model (I forget the name). Are two-tone, even Recaro themselves sell "kits" that you can change the colour of the middle part with (think retrim kits). They should also have a large "RECARO" logo stitched into the headrest. -Kirill
I've sat in them, but not in the zed. They're pretty firm, but give good side support, great if you spend lots of time on the track. Because they're reclinable and not fixed-back, they're still pretty practical as far as seats go. If you need a comparison, think zed seats with heaps more side support (holds you on both sides of your ribcage). -Kirill
In addition, Azzuro, if you really like the electric controls of a stock seat, you could ask this member about his installation (this is the guy I was talking about earlier with the Brides). http://aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=282841&highlight=Bride Have a look at his driver's seat, he's using the standard electric controls to move up / down on the rail. -Kirill
Early models had them as an option too, although the trim wasn't to everyones taste. Ask RedZedMikey to post some pics, he has a set in his car.
I have some RECARO'S out of a 2nd Series Z32 the same as Mickeys Seats (see pic previous message) ---- What is a fair price to sell these at ? ----- Any interested parties
