Is the TT gearbox Manual or Auto (I imagine there's a difference)... And can you give anymore details about it?

haahhahahah its clearly a manual gear box.. hence the lack of a huge auto maze !!!! and it has proper gears

 

it's a manual gearbox, with 5 gears, toughest manual box nissan have mass produced AFAIK

with that exhaust, would you merge the dumps to 1 pipe then run 1 cat? or 2 cats then merge?

yep fits 2+2 but you may need to move the hangers, layout is the same as shown in the first pic and any exhaust place can do it easily.
Your choice as to running 1 or 2 cats, but yes the center 3" section acts like an X pipe which is a very good thing for noise and balancing the exhaust back pressure
