    Hi All.

Given the last time I played with exhausts was a pre-unleaded car, I need some advice on what's good on a zed.

It's a NA, and I want to keep the basic layout (ie quad exhausts - hey looks good, so why change that?) - but improve the looks (and lose that crappy pipe within the chrome tip look), and gain some power in the process...

Now, my normal thing would be "Extractors, 2 1/4in dual system, straight through mufflers, twin 2in rolled tips either side".

Preferably, something that doesn't 'drone' too....

What's the go??? (And let's not have to take out a second mortgage here.....)

    Thanks for the advice.

    Simon.

ps. What is a cat-back system? Seen it on the forum... Never heard the term before.

pps. While I'm at it, should I do something about intake too - it's stock...

    Hey Simon

Your pretty much on the money already. I'd stick with a cat-back 2 1/4 inch or a 2.5 inch system. Don't go any larger than 2.5 inch or you'll lose back pressure.

If you want to go all out:

    Extractors
    Hi-Flow cats
2.5" pipes through to a dual muffler/canon exit.

As for the intake, a simple pod filter will do the trick.

I would suggest doing a search on previous threads. There is a wealth of information on NA exhausts and air intakes.

you can spend as much or as little money as you want.

if you want extractors and that, it will be expensive. but if you just want a nice sound, then just get cats back. go for a X-pipe, with big resonators then rear mufflers. probably gonna cost around $1500
