Hi Guys, anyone out thers have any info on the effects of 10% ethanol blend in 98 octane fuel on a Zed??? Was recently feeding my girl with what i thought was mothers milk only to discover it was laced with ethanol...since the have had to replace 1 injector, and now have a baby running rich as hell..no get up and go at all..anyone have any thoughts on the probable cause???
From what I understand Ethanol will cause a lean burn due to having a different density from 98 RON fuel. This causes higher combustion temps and can result in burnt valves. If your car is running rich I don't think it's the ethanol. Although how do you now it's rich?
Exhausts are as black as a coal miners bum...plus heavy "Fuel" smell running or idle...feels like a car running on full choke
O2's maybe? Faulty o2 sensor would be my first guess. You're on the goldcoast so lucky there are lots of forum members up your way, i'm sure someone will be able to help you out with a consult THIS ARTICLE is more about fuel consumption but it may help as it tells you how to test alot of the sensors assosciated with your air/fuel mixtures
Thanks thanks for the info and links Rob...i will follow them up...and when i can get the right connector to my laptop for Conzult cable mabe i will be able to do my own diagnostics.
