Vbevan - Nice... are you suggesting I use it as a telescope?

I'm talking about the design of the bends etc, as I'm guessing it'd have been pretty hard to get nice smooth bends on that perforated sheet, so internally I want to see the radius of the bends and the quality of the joins as I doubt it's 1 piece all the way through. If the joins are messy it increases turbulence. Also, I'm not sure that you'd even want perforated sheet on the outside wall of a bend, turbulence must go through the roof.

Rob - are you able to get that snapshot?

Doubt it... I can ask but I really don't think they're going to cut one open.

They are a very high quality part, do a search you will find plenty of good reviews and with shifters car making 400+rwkw there are no issues with performance.

    Info

These units keep noise down a lot without effecting power. These X mufflers get rid of annoying drone and change tone to more of deep quiet sound. They are handmade in Sydney by exhaust manufacturer, tig welded decent quality perforated tube inside with good packing to absorb noise. They are labour intensive to make and being made in Australia they are not cheap. UAS design and exclusive to UAS. The pipes cross over in the middle so no need for a balance pipe as gasses hit each other and tumble and accelerate along cancelling out resonance.

Nah I wouldn't ask them to cut one open, but perhaps some snaps of the production process showing the internals before the outside skin is welded into place

No timeframe yet, just fishing for interest and it looks like there is more than enough to go ahead.

I will start a proper group buy thread on monday (post-dyno day etc) so as we can get rolling on these.

    Production Time

A couple of questions have been asked about production time -as john mentioned these are made locally so there is no issue with shipping etc so it's just a question of how quickly the exhaust shop can turn them out (along with their other work). A safe estimate is around two units a week so based on the current level of interest (around ten units) we would be looking at just under two months to get all the products manufactured and delivered. Could start the process once the minimum five deposits have been received and send them out on a first in first served basis.

    serious reply

did my previous reply to this get deleted ?

I've got a TTZ X pipe on my NA and it removed the drone AND some of the vibration, replacing the Tranny mount [ manual tranny] got rid if the rest of the vibration, from my own experience i would not say that an X pipe increases the drone.

    cheers

great news......ill be in for one but i have to say with uni and working one day a week and with many other good GBs happening especially exhaust related bringing the funds in are going to be a bit of a worry......

would love it if you could set a nice gap for the cut off date...

    cheers
