    Hi guys,

i love my ICE and now my cousin want to copy me so i though id organise a GB.

basically i have a JVC DVD player with a nice TV and now my cousin want to copy so ive looked into it for him.

its gonna workout cheap with a GB so this is how it goes.

it should cost all up about $450, hopfully less but id need 5 people in on it.

the deal would include this head unit

plus a tv screen which is non branded but has PAL tv capabilities and comes with arial.

the set up will look something like my system the only thing is my JVC deck is different.

im loving this set up as you can search through folders on 1 CD or DVD with 1000's of songs and you can also organise them withing folders..... no more ipods :)

BUT, the thing i love most about JVC decks are their add ons...

if you want bluetooth or ipod you can but the blutooth or ipod conector and it becomes full intergrated unlike the aux input you are able to chaged ipod tracks through the deck....or call people with you deck (bluetooth with phone).

basically this is a EOI as in 2-3 weeks weather or not any 1 show interest my cousin will be buying this gear so let me know.... if ur a bit low on cash let me know and i may be able to stall him a lil.

warrenty will be included in the Deck straight from JVC but the TV screens are from a local importer and would have to be sent back to me...

    cheers

i got an eonon double din unit, for 285, all in one, and i believe josh got one for 240 and that was touchscreen, can get them very cheap if people want them cheap, and has a usb and sd card input so real easy to use, obviously would not be as good as a jvc unit and there are a number of small issues with them but if people are looking for a cheap option then these could be the way to go

My friend will be looking for a screen for his statesman, I'll let him know about the GB... I think he'd prefer a double din unit though so if you decide to go with Bigbaz's screen then he'll probably jump in on the GB... also on the EONON webiste there's a few models above the $280 model, could also look at them

280 was the double din tv/ dvd and josh picked up the touch screen model for 240 on ebay

reasons why i went for the split system was really to not destroy the centre panel that holds the unit....i can alway swith back to stock...

also many of those chinese decks have problems and sound quality is extremely poor, this is a cheap alternative that will give you quality sound from the JVC deck and a cool screen to interact with....also the JVC screen interface is really user friendly and all in english.... my mate bought an ebay deck that was touch screen, half the menu is in chinese...!!!

also i noticed with mine driving at night, the screen is really bright so its always nice to be able to close it without stopping ur music, and u dont have to keep taking the faceplate of when u park ur car... :)

like i said...any 1 interested come forward coz it will go ahead with or without... :)

A few myths to what you say, split decks are also sold by the same company, and i can turn my screen off with music still going, it is an obvious safety feature needed with a dvd screen, menu is able to be switched through a number of languages including chinese, simplified chinese and English. Yes there are other quality issues, my clock is so far 2 hours behind, the interface screens are very basic, sound quality is equal or better to my previous sony head deck and button layout on units are basic and a little boring

yeh fair enough....but i have installed many systems and i find if your going to amp the system and you would like respectable quality music a decent deck (not sony) will be needed....theyre are awsome for their price considering you get the whole package really cheap but like i said the sound quality isnt their....i noticed that the cheaper decks wont allow the music to go loud enough to hear the quality of them but, if ur not interested in ICE, people are prob better off goin with wot u got....

have u got any pics of it...would be interesting to see...plus wot kind of outputs does it have??

    cheers

    Will

EDIT: just read wot i wrote...im not in any way trying to attack u baz.... under $300 for a TV and DVD is crazy deal.... im just giving a more expensive option... plus the JVC deck add ons are cool too.

yeah all good, i know, mine puts out 4 x 35 but i only use the rear 2, it has 2 pairs of pre outs, that i send to an amp which powers my splits and my 15" sub, need more amps soon cos i am only running the sub at 120rms, and it is supposed to be run at about 800rms, sound qual is good, instal is still a bit of a butcher job from previous owner, head unit has made it a bit better, but still need some fixing, i will try to get pics soon

I have a JVC head unit as well. A single DVD gives me something like 24 hours worth of mp3 music.

I want a touch screen that can show DVD's and the JVC mp3 controls, but also can be used as a touch screen for a car PC to come. I don't need another radio or another mp3 player.
