just gauging how much interest there would be in a k'n pod filter group buy................
pricing would be $85 or $95 posted anywhere in aus. retail is well over $120 each normally. i can also supply the "recharge kits"(oil and cleaning agents) but will need to check the legalkitys of posting such items as it includes a aerosol can, pricing would be $30 for the recharge kits

these provide a handy power increase across the rev range by allowing the motor to ingest more air with less flow resistance,im sure most of us understand how this works:D  expect small power gains from using a pod filter,as it is more of a supporting mod rather than a power gainer, but it is important to allow your motor to breath properly:biggrin: :p

need 10+ people to get these prices but that shouldnt be to hard i wouldn't think, post up your interest here people. delivery would be 2 - 3 weeks after the group buy is finalised, possibly sooner depending on my suppliers stocks at the time.

no pics but the part number is RR-3003 which is "k'n pod filter with 78mm tube, polished tip and "dual funnel" style design. this is a the short k'n pos,not a long one. will be a direct fit to the z32 air flow meter, and will fit in the stock airbox location.

    any queries please post away

    thanks:cool:

I believe that the recharge kit isn't aerosol, it's a pumpaction thing like a amourall bottle.

Another thing, why K+N? Aren't the Apexi ones generally considered to be better?

    why k'n filters?

i beleive the k'n to be a superior filter, and becasue it is a "wet" style filter i beleive it would filter more dirt from the air....
we also already have about 3 forum suppliers for apexi filters,so why not offer a alternative for the people who may be interested?
    thanks for your questions chrispy:D

guys those filters are a dry filter they dont need to be oiled.

I can get the exact same filter for the same price $85 pickup or $95 delivered and you dont need to get the group buy numbers, that is my price for 1.

also that filter needs a separate AFM adaptor, it doesnt bolt straight up to the AFM.

i will be getting them regardless and just trying to put the offer out there for others!!!!:D making zedders happy is what maters here!:zlove:
the boxes i have for them still say to oil these filters, but happy to be corrected if this is not so!

I guess it's really a subjective matter. You can be going for performance, or air filtering, or a combination. Autosalon magazine did a pod filter shootout a while ago with K&N coming out on top. Though their testing methods may be a bit random, it shows that Apexi isn't the stand out top choice..

I saw a test in Zoom a few years ago, they did an incrediably detailed test on the dyno with about 20 different filters, they measured gain in power only, nothing on the filtration.

The autobarn cheapy Drift brand came out on top with Apexi second or third and K+N was well down the line. I'll see if I can find the article.
