    Plenty will say they never had a problem, blue is reserved for emergency vehicles, white should be on the front, red should be on the back, but they don't say anything about green. :p

    A red "300ZX" centre panel that doesn't have a parker and brake style of operation might be considered a flashing light at night. :eek:

    Here is and exert from Queensland Transports, "All about modifications to motor vehicles", 2008, page 6.

    if i were you guys i would connect to your licence plate lights. that way it is on all the time when ur lights are on, not just when you brake. thats the best way of installing it i think.
    As for everyone paying. im still waiting on 3 members, they havnt got back to my PM as yet :(

    No, the week after I ordered the EL panel I was in a mates care when he got pulled over for and grilled for his fully sick neons int he footwells cause they were heaps bright and pretty much lit up the whole car haha

    Cops went on for about 10 full minutes about how much they dislike any blue lights on cars etc.

    So I decided not to install the panel especially cause I'm on good behaviour with one point...cant afford any more attention and I already get "random" breath tested about once a fortnight as it is..

    I actually got pulled over for a "vehicle inspection" last week, he checked car height and my tyre placard but not my tyre tread haha... Also when I popped my hood for him he goes "wow not much space in there...no room for like...a blow off valve or something..?"

    Me: No sir :) (I have 2 that vent to atmo like most people)

    But yes...I've kinda gone off topic here so I'll recap:

    Blue lights visable from outside car = the devil (bad)

    On that topic with brake lights... I came across these just now

    http://www.z32-zone.com/original_parts/led_center_panel-4.gif

    They're blue LED but when you brake they turn red LED. That's
    pretty awesome, don't think it would be legal here though right lol
    cos of the 'flashing LED' thing. Looks awesome..

    no i havent got a zed... wrote it off and parted it out.
    a very good thread about how we got the last bits off the car...

    just a quick question... if it was wired to the stop brakes (not parkers) would you shorten their life cycle because of the constant on/off sequence on a very regular basis?

    not buying that zed either (zed wasnt for me. was for a friend.)

    I've been using a blue centre panel for the past 9 years. without ever being pulled over or warned against having it(I was checked out once only since owning my car and the blue panel was not even mentioned).
    I think people need to have another look at why they get pulled over by the local Fuzz.:p:zlove:

    You = Old

    Me = Young

    Cops target the young.

    I've been told by 3 seperate cops when I've been pulled over that they target young drivers.

    The cops were proud of it when they said it.

    One guy even said thats why he pulled me over. That any excuse he can find to take another young driver off the road for a while makes him sleep better at night.

    Maybe its just townsville cops?

    Just wanted to thank Scott for the awesome job on my lights! Thought I'd post up some photos to show the results! He converted my tail lights as
    well as installed the EL inverter inside the center panel :

    [IMG]

    Captured the indicators right on time the first shot :)
    And a night shot :

    [IMG]

    Had to put 6 peices of red cello to give it a deep red LOL other than that,
    really happy with it! Thanks alot Spooly! :D Much appreciated.
