Any ideas on why this could happen? Used to turn the key and the engine would fire up first click of the starter every time for the last 4 years, now it takes a bit of winding usually at the end of the second crank or at the start of the third. What I've done. Changed the injectors to reconditioned stock, same for same but recond. What I've checked. Battery has plenty of power, spinning the starter fast (Although i'm worried that having to turn the key 3 times may shorten the battery life) Timing reads at 15 degrees at idle according to ECU talk fuel pressure seemed ok as it spurted out the hoses i forgot to tighten the clamps on. I'm thinking there's only 3 things, fuel, spark , timing, is there anything else? Thanks Bruce
What condition are your sparkplugs in? Poor spark will produce your issues. Is your fuel delivery too rich? This can "drown" your sparkplugs and inhibit a clean ignition.
Try holding the accelerator flat as you try to start it. If this eliminates your problem you can be reasonably sure that your problem related to over fuelling.
Has the battery ever been changed in the 4 years? If its the same itsa pretty good run. Maybe test with another known good one.
