Whats the ballpark figure one would expect to pay for an engine pull. Is it cheaper than an upper and lower plenum removal?

Do you want to put it back in as well? I'd guess $1.5k to $2k, justa guess, but i'm sure you could do it your self for less even if you had to buy all the tools... you could ring up AMEC or UAS and ask :)

I spoke to the Z shop a few weeks about this, two days to take out three days to put in approx three G's.

    really??

there are people on this forum who have the engine out in one day, using nothing but an engine crane and normal tools?? Then after work, the engine is back in in another day..... 2 days out and 3 days in just seems excessive to me, unless that time in between also includes doing other things that can be done while the engine is out....

    Cheers

If your from Melbourne, my mech can do it for $750 engine pull. And yes he has lots of experience with Z's his currently building a Z engine so he knows his way around them.

    Engine Pull

We would charge $1320 to remove AND replace an engine plus the cost of what ever motor work is required.

What faults do you have ? as to why you want to pull the motor:confused:
    ?

I was quote $600 for and engine out and a new engine in, and only paid $300 and he kept my old engine. I wouldn't be paying over $1,500 no matter how good they think they are.

    Whos your mechanic?

I'm paying nissport a total of about $5500 or so including parts for

Reconditioned heads (all valves, lifters etc) - $1600 just for the parts
    Knock sensor wiring harness
    New O2's
    New Cats
New rear suspension arms + bushes
    new fuel hoses
    new fuel cap seal
removal of boost controller + boost guage (back to stock)
New Radiator cap, new Radiator end tank, Radiator rodding
New gearstick bushing thingys (its moving around a lot)
    bypass of under plenum hoses
misc tidy up etc in engine, check other components

They've quoted me about $3700 for parts and $1700 for labour

If the car is more pearshaped than it seems, i could be up for turbos, pistons, rings... could end up pretty pricey.

Anyone have any idea how much extra i might be up for if when the engine is out sitting on the bench there are piston/turbo issues?
