Engine Oil Question (not quite what you think)

So I don't think this has been covered before, so I figured I'd just ask.

Will be having the Zed Tuned not next Wednesday, but the following, so 9 days from now. It is still using Penrite Running-In Oil, I believe it has done in the region of 1800KM already. No signs of smoke out the rear. By the time it gets to MRC, it will easily have over 2000KM on the new Engine.

My question is, what Oil should I be going to, coming off this Running-In stuff, to be suitable for it to be Tuned...?

Not so much concerned with the Weight of the Oil (looking at going something like 5W-40 or 5W-50), but more so if it should be Mineral, Semi-Synthetic, or straight up going instantly to Full-Synthetic.

    go Full synthetic
use penrite sin ..all there range are going full synthetic now

I'm going to use penrite running in oil as well for 1000km
    then
using penrite racing 15w/50 (because e85)
otherwise would have gone 10w/40 on 98

Massive amount of info on oil on the NZ 300zx site, thread was stirred by an idiot who thought it good to run 0w 30 or some crap (NEVER in a VG30DE(TT) !!)

The guts of it is anything in the 10w 40 - 20w 50 range is pretty much acceptable depending on operational climate (average air temps etc).

Synthetic is better, I use Motul but that's as good an argument as Ford Vs Holden - everyone will have their own opinions.

I tend to go on the heavier side with oils purely for a little better protection - again there will be plenty of opinions on this but this is what I personally do.
    (Motul 300V Competition 15w 50 for the win!! :) )

I was looking at using that too ..but have read that ester based oils is not best choice for E85

There COULD be some truth in that, I'm a Motul retailer/agent so I can get in touch with the man and find out Motuls stance on this, granted it might be just a tiny bit biased ha ha!

So Penrite have a racing 15w/50 now? Interesting, hope they bumped the ZDDP level up.
