I want to give the old girl an engine flush. You used to be able to get an engine oil flush but no one seems to have it. What do you suggest I use?

    Umm dont do it.

    It ruins bearings.

    All the sludge

an oil flush loosens ends up in the sump, and is sucked into the pump and sent back around the engine:eek: if you?re lucky. The sludge can partially block the oil pump pick up, or the pump itself, this is not good, don't do it.

i did one recently and you should see the chunky shite that came out , surely it better out than in ? i think earlier owners of my Z have not done the routine servicing so im thinking of doing a flush again soon, i want it clean in there.

I've used an engine oil flush additive on every oil change I've done on the Z, and my bearings, seals, rings, etc. are all fine.

Leaving all that built-up gunk in your engine is more likely to screw it up than an oil flush. If a dislodged chunk of sludge somehow manages to clog your oil pickup or screw your oil pump, then odds are your engine was in seriously bad shape to begin with.
