anyone got any knowledge of where to source engine mounts? Import- 90 model NA, Nissan seems to struggling to find a part number.
Clicky OEM ones from USA. Great service and many guys on the forum use conceptz. I got UAS High Performance engine mounts though. http://nismo.com.au/
Go OEM That $80 a mount price is cheap cheap compared to a few years ago. I have a pair of the series one UAS mount... absolute garbage. I dont think the new ones are that much better. IMO there is no such thing as a 'performance' mount. Only a knockoff that has a chance of working as well as oem. The only need to ever not use OEM mounts is when u got whopping turbos and turbo pipes that interfere.
If you're talking about the noltec mounts then yes they are shit and lots of problems stemming from the fact that the urethane compound is no good. Vulnerable to heat, oil, and water... not a good thing in an engine mount! The newer version UAS mounts are very good, different manufacturer and different bushing compound. I'm using them, don't think stock mounts would last long in my case.
I would suggest considering Brett Dempsey's new billet engine mounts, price on his website is US$160 a pair, clicky. All the BDE gear is top shelf.
These aren't Brett's low profile mounts, these are his oem replacements that utilise the 'vibration isolator' design he developed for the low profiles. but same cost as oem, "100% mechanically contains engine movement", rebuildable (bushings $15 each), less than half the weight of stock, etc. when the time comes for me to take the engine out these will be going in (or the low profiles if I tt it).
