What possible reasons are there for an engine fan to stay on most of the time? Car in question is a NA to TT conversion, Iv checked most of the wiring again, but cant seem to locate the issue. Everything else is running 100 percent, just the fan is giving me grief. PS Engine temp is normal, nothing above average.
You need to find someone with Consult that can check if the ECU is seeing the Temp sensor signal. If Consult confirms all is OK you may have a wiring fault. Could also be the fan relay had contacts welded in. IE: needs new fan relay. Is the temp sensor connector in good nick ? Check the pins for corrosion... What's your fuel economy like?
Graham he's talking about clutch fan running at high speed all the time. Had a bit of a chat to him last night he's changed hubs and it's still doing it. Do you know at roughly what temp the fan should be at full speed?
Its not till quite high, over 100 degrees c. It can only be a bad hub, But Is he sure he knows its running locked up? It can be pretty loud at idle especially when you first start it. I have a good hub down here if its needed.
Hey, At idle it is fine, it is mainly after iv changed gears, whines like a truck. Hopefully we'l be able to sort it out when I see Rob this week. And if I end up needing another hub Il let you know Thanks
