I have been running an LT12X Microtech for the past few years. It is a very trouble free unit. AOK in my estimation.

????? that's news to me, plenty of crap from people who would'nt know shit from clay.;)
Like Chili I also use the LT12X, I run 650 injectors and plenty of other junk without a hiccup.

Microtech. Tunability and reliability. Don't know anything about EMS but heard from 3 people that they're just crap, can't remember why. Haven't heard of any problems from Microtech :)

Cold start???? I have had zero issues on cold start-up, mine is setup to idle
at 1250 until temps reach 51c, you guys must have had tuners who don't know microtechs.

Agreed the computer will only ever be as good as the person tuning it - just get the computer that your mechanic or person tuning it will know the best

Given the choice, I'd take the EMS. High end Haltech features for low-end Microtech dollars.

That said, there's nothing wrong with the Mircotech, the world's fastest WRX runs one, as do plenty of other cars, but I'd still personally go the EMS.

Any sort of reliability issues are generally more installer related than computer related.

Most likely those 3 people also heard that from 3 other people, who heard it from 3 other people and so on... Worthless feedback if it cant be substantiated by actual fact.

I have a mate with a 10 sec VL Commodore than runs an EMS Stinger, they're certainly not "crap" that's for sure!

i the 300zx is my second car.
My first was a VL Turbo fully forged, bored and stroked on a high comp bottom end. It is a well knowen fact within the VLT community that Microtechs are an excellent computer if you can live with rough cold starts. My tuner was Alan @ RAJAB Racing, who probably knows this ecu better or as good as anyone else in the world.

I think it might differ from car to car. I might be wrong, but i dont think so.

Well, without intending any offense, you are wrong in at least one instance, because my MicroTech fitted Z32 TT starts easily, and also idles(and runs) as smooth as silk.:zlove::zlove:

no offence taken at all, your 300zx is not a VL Turbo. I think it differs in certain cars, and befor you all jump on holden this holden that, the VL runs a Nissan RB30ET single cam straight 6.

    I have a Microtech too

Never had a problem with cold starts, as someone said it is the tuner who can make the diference MIKEA

    I'm not a rabid Holden fan, but I do own a 96 VS(which probably why I'm not a fan).:eek::zlove::zlove:
Comparing that with a Z32, is a bit like comparing a wheelbarrow with a Jet Ski.:p
As long as a car reliably does the job for which it was designed, then it's a good car. It's horses for courses as far as I'm concerned. :zlove::zlove:
