Just a quick question for the techies.

I have an Autometer Electrical Water Temp Gauge with the sensor mounted into an adaptor in the top radiator hose.

Now the question is does the adaptor need to be earthed for the senor and guage to work properly?

Gauge does not seem to work at the moment and I was wondering if it was because it was not earthed?

    Cheers

    yes..

My adapter in the radiator hose has a small screw in it which has a wire attached to it. This wire then connects to a ground.

if the gauge is new it should come with instructions? My saber gauge has two wires. Guessing one is ground. Just put an earth to it and see if it works

The gauge itself also has to be earthed. No use putting two wires on the sensor and not earting the actual gauge body as there is no path for the elec-trickery to go along ;)
