    Hey guys,

Man i got gremlins at the moment. I had some funny clicking sounds now and then when i tried to start the car and thought it was the battery. But it comes and goes. the same sound as when you battery is flat and not enough power. Well went to start it the other day and light on the dash flicker and clicking sound again and wont start, put some jumper cables on and hey presto no problems get it home, turn it off and same thing again. SO i go anf by a brand new battery, checked the battery was full of power and installed it. Same problems still exists again put teh jumpers on and presto starts up again.
The dash lights are flickering but the other light like map light ect no probs. Sounds like some electrical short but why would it start when you put the jumper cables on it ?

I checked the battery was getting charge when it was running and also took the positive lead of the battery when running and check to make sure it was generating enough power and no probe there. But it just wont start...
I need suggestions i dont know where to start.

Could it be the power lead connector to the battery ?

    Negative poin on battery

With mine there where a couple of lines running from or near the negative point on the battery that need to be connected to the body of the car so i can get a good earth.
Is there any cables flouting around that area???
Actually just check mine an where the negative line comes out of the firewall there is another cable which is an earthing line. Should be bolted to the motor or the body.
Hope im steering you in the right direction.

i used to have that problem too... wanna know what i did to solve it?

i installed a sound system and it just worked fine after that.. lol
with my case i think my earth just wasnt on properly..

but with yours you have changed the batt.. so i would recommed follow the earth lead and find out if it is earthing properly.. what u can always do is get some 4GA cables and make a new earth... it wouldnt b the best thing to do but it does the job...

HMM OK .. excuse my total noobness .. but where is the damn starter and is it easy to get to ? And why would that then make my dash lights flicker ?

Otherwise its a auto sparky job.. anyone know someone good in Perth.

Have you got a manual transmission???

If you have a manual its on the drivers side of the gearbox:)
Just check the electrical connection on it
