    Laws on what coloured lights can be displayed

    will vary from state to state. In QLD, only emergerncy vehicles can display a blue light anywhere on the car
    It's quite an involved job to clear the lettering, so IMO best to do it once, and in a colour that won't upset the local law enforcement.
    In QLD, police can defect a car, if they suspect it might be defective (its in the legislation).
    With regard to my illumination, I bought that panel already illuminated, the person that cleared it, cleared out all the lettering space.
    I guess it just comes down to personal taste as to which way you want to clear them (outline as opposed to the all the letterspace).

    Just wondering..I don't have a 2000 spec centre panel.

    But since there is a GB on these I will be getting them.;)

    I am wondering since the "300zx" is in red on the 2000 spec centre panel, will this change the colour of the EL tape's appearance (if you had a blue one not a red?)

    I am keen for a red one but finances are quite tight atm so I will see how I go this week and will let you know for sure rob.

    Part of the install is to remove the paint on the inside of the lettering, so I don't think it would make a difference as you'll be clearing that section of the panel anyway

    Also why are you getting a 2000 spec centre panel only to modify it?

    What's different?

    Wouldn't your modified original panel be exactly the same as a modified 2000 panel?

    I have heard the 2000 spec centre panels

    look different and awkward when they are with the old tail lights. So thats why.
    They won't match.:)

    Is it difficult to open up the rear centre panel

    to do this mod? Is it messy? Since I'm getting the 2k spec centre panel (GB) I don't wanna mess it up or wreck it by doing this mod?:confused: :eek:

    Depends on what you mean by easy. You'll need to take your time with it so as not to crack the plastic panel
