we've decided to split the group buy such that those who've paid will get their displays within a week, and then there will be a final send out for the remaining people that pay up until the cutoff (it will be then, if we've hit 40, that the $10 refund will be paid back)

so those who have paid (as of today or whenever bonezx gets the last payments before he transfers to me today/tomorrow), your displays should be ready to go on thursday, so those in express post network will probably get it on friday.

all blue are ready and about 15 green are done (bar packaging up), rest should be finished off today and tomorrow with any luck.

I found that with the PC in the convertible I lose about 500m-1km at the start of each trip before it has booted up and got everything started. On a short trip it is time to shut down as soon as it got started.

What is the startup time on your device ?

That's great Peter! Being one of the Blue units that have been completed. It would be very handy to have by this Friday, so i can start cutting things apart in my Zed on the weekend!

 

ive sent out 6 displays today, going to those who paid earliest who are also outside express post network (so they wouldnt get it if sent tomorrow). i think all the remaining who have paid as of today or yesterday, will have their display sent tomorrow - will confirm after it has been sent. if anyone wants their express satchel number, PM me.

ive removed all references to black enclosure, as this is the default, so only need to note it down if someone is getting white enclosure (which no one has requested yet - will post a pic of it soon).

here is a picture of the white enclosure. note how u can kinda see the black from the LCD module coming thru the enclosure? its not a shadow (roughly 1cm around the screen at all sides). its slightly more noticable on the actual display than shown in the picture. you can see how the enclosure is 'whiter' on the very right, and on the left near the buttons. doesnt make it look 'bad', but not as good as if it was more solid. the joins are also more noticable as you can see in the picture.

u can still be put on the reserve list if u want one - there there are more than a few people on main list that havent paid by the 17th (next friday), then u can get on

 

well then with that said
ill be on the list for a black one, not sure what colour screen id like.
iff thiers not the one id like in the non payers list ill just buy it, so is thier a website where i can check up more about the screens?

 

Mine will be paid before the cut off so don't get too excited

 

theres the ecutalk website but most of the stuff in the first post came from there. the blue screen is harder to see in competing light like sunlight (which also makes it harder to see on angles), and it has a slower response time. if you're not definite u want it, go green.

todays batch is only for the people who had paid prior to yesterday. anyone who had not paid by then will be in the next batch once everyone has paid

sucess and timeliness of group buys often hinges on prompt payment, the only reason people who have already paid are getting theirs ahead of the cutoff (rather than everyone getting theirs together once everyone has paid) is to reward them for being prompt with payment.
