ECUTalk I believe is one of the first things that someone should put in their Z when they buy one. As well as offering very useful diagnostics and error/fault identification, I think the best feature is the audible alarms. How often (especially in a Z32 because the heat up so fast) does a motor die because it gets cooked simply because the drive failed to look at the temp gauge. In a Z32 temps can go from normal to melt down in minutes and personally I don't look at the gauge every few minutes. With ECUTalk you can set the temps you want an alarm to sound. You can also set alarms for injector cycle and other things. Have a read here: http://www.ecutalk.com/ The owner/developer of this product is a member on this forum. Awesome tool and very good value as it replaces a number of other gauges (and looks cool in the dash )
That's great, but not what is for sale. This is the Conzult cable by EcuTalk and not the super kewl display unit.
No-one with a laptop, should be without one. For those who don't know what its for (In plain english). 1.) Plug this into Zed (under dash the connector is there ready to roll) 2.) Connect to Laptop (using USB and I believe there is a serial port as well with this) 3.) Load any FREE software off the net (like Conzult and there are many others) or pay to register the disk (cheap for what it does ..log files, Speed test, check each component for behaviour .. and the works) Then you can see wtf is going on when sensors and other electrical components start to fail .. saves stacks of time wondering what the hell is causing Z to have tantrum. Hope this helps
