Hi everyone Just a question about getting the ECU socketed? What does it involve and is there anyone in the Melbourne area that can do it? I really want to get Karls dual tune chip but obviously this needs to be done first, or is the socketing something you can do yourself at home? Sorry for such a n00b question but it?s one thing I could not find a straight answer through using the search function Regards, Chris Zan
Unless you have the hands of a surgeon, you'll want to get someone else to do it. I luckily am close friends with an electrical engineer, so he does all that for me. But your local tv repair shop or friendly electrical engineer should be able to do it for you.
so if i were to say to them "are you able to socket the ecu in my 300zx" they would know what im talking about
Yep, so remove the ecu from car, take it in with a socket, and say "see this chip, I need it safely removed, and replaced with this socket here" If say sure no wucken furries, then sweet.
