Finally got around to throwing my car on the dyno at work the other morning. Did a quick power run and checked air/fuel ratio's. ~200rwkw with pod filter, HKS Dual Hyper cat back exhaust. Standard boost. Pretty happy with result. Next is back to back test after dumps and HDI boost controller.... sorry about crappy scan quality (hopefully photo works, 1st image post)
ah don't worry not all top info is correct, as some is left over from previous different run. You could prob ignore half that stuff it wasn't set up for a proper print out.
194rwkw is a pretty decent power figure on standard boost but with your mods. ...you will see some better results with boost wound up. Just don't go too overboard with boost using stock intercoolers though. Make sure you check for detonation when winding the boost up. Beware anything over 12psi for knock, otherwise you'll do damage other than get fully sik power. lol.
Yeah Not my first run at these figures. Motor is healthy and has been looked after well. and I wanted to check AFR, plus alot of things become obvious on a dyno that can be hard to pick day to day driving. Planning on winding some boost in at some stage, already have the controller. Some other preventative maintenance things I want to do first though. As for fully hektik sik power, all will be set up on dyno. I've pulled too many stuffed turbo's off cars to just smash boost into the motor with no regard for set up.
nice figure mate. I think dead stock with healthy engine is around 175rwk so 200 with those two mods is good, as benny said,... You could go to 12 psi with no Probs. Just look at upgrading your intercoolers next
Well in that case you especially don't want to pull stuffed turbos off these cars :bash: That's where high-mount supra turbos come into their own
When I first started seeing these figures I thought they were a bit higher than norm, not that I'm complaining. It just led me to check a few bits and pieces ie. waste gate actuator's being 'custom shimmed' , or ecu having been tinkered with. And happily I found all was standard. As for big high mount supras that would be a welcome change to the usual silvia / skyline / xr6 / random 4x4 with blown turbo's. Never done turbo removal on 300 though...... yet.....
And you wouldn't want to my friend. As it's an engine out job. Keep up the good work. It sounds like you have a sensible attitude towards your engine, and i'm sure it will thank you for that in the long run. There have just been so many horror stories around with people boosting the crap out of their stock engine, coolers, and tune that makes you be very careful from their experiences.
You mean your Z doesn't put out 984NM?? haha like I said before it was just a quick few runs, didn't have all settings configured. That's probably viewed best as tractive effort, which is related to but not a direct measurement of engine torque.
Cheers Benny_C. (I would thank you if I knew where the button was - haha i'm a forum noob poster, long time lurker). As for horror stories here is an XR6 turbo I pulled off a few weeks back. Had to play find the exhaust turbine in the exhaust piping
