yeah but it still has a flow rating, these look the same as ones I've seen that are meant to be good for up to 450 hp.

anyone fitting them should also look at changing the ECU's K value when increasing fuel pressure.

    so

if i install this, i'll run rich first? ... then up the boost when i'm on the dyno?...

depends what pressure you set it to at idle, and it will depend on your specific modifications. your mechanic / dyno tuner will be able to set it appropriately for your car.

    Hey Pete.
Does that price include delivery? Also what MikeH said, Do they have a hp rateing as such?

mate, make up a bolt on kit with all the neccesary lines/fitting and show how 2 install these and you will be rolling in sales

the price delivered is $202, $195 pickup from our shop.

it does mention for this product that it is rated up to 450hp. I will at some stage install one on the race car to see how it handles 700hp.

Interested, but when do you think you will be testing them out on the race car Pete?

will give one a test run as soon as I can, after I come back from the Nationals.

    How does it work?

Is this a plug n play device or does it require adjustments etc?

How does it differ from the stock FPR?

i.e How does it allow you to run a higher fuel pressure?

Any info will be a help... :D

    Cheers
    Rob.

this is an adjustable FPR (stock isnt adjustable) so it will allow you to set the fuel pressure at idle to suit your application, and is rising rate so as the revs rise so does the pressure.

which reminds me I will have to put one of these on our race car to try it out, but not until after our track day this Saturday.

    Ok cool...

I thought it was adjustable except from the pic I couldn't see any way to adjust it. I know the Nismo version has a bolt you turn to adjust. Wasn't sure if that's the case with this one...

Also, I don't suppose you know what pressure your fuel should be set to if you're running 1 bar of boost? Is there a certain figure you set it to or do you just play it by ear?

    Cheers

This wouldnt be required if you have an apexi SAFC, which controls the air/fuel ratio. Am i right?

    Thanks fleet

the base setting is going to vary for everyone depending on what boost they are running and mods etc etc. the only way to make sure it is adjusted correctly is to optimise the A/F ratio by checking on the dyno and adjusting as required.

an SAFC controls the ratio to an extent but an SAFC has nothing to do with controlling the fuel pressure. ideally you want to run a high fuel pressure to improve combustion efficiency achieved through the better atomisation of the fuel injector spray caused by running a higher pressure.

for a rough example if you run a hose with no nozzle, you get a steady thick stream of water. fit a nozzle which puts the water under pressure and you get a fine high speed mist. the basic function of the fuel pressure regulator is to supply the injectors with fuel at high pressure so the fuel coming into the cylinders is a fine high speed mist which will combust more efficiently than larger droplets of fuel under low pressure.

i thought that's what the injectors do ??

    Do they increase Horsepower?

So do they actually increase the HP or are they more to do with making the car run more efficiently when boosted?

Reason I'm asking is because I've never seen them mentioned as and item to upgrade to gain power...

I never really knew about them until recently to be honest...

No one ever talks about them...

They are like a middle child...always forgotten... :D

    Cheers

they dont increase HP on their own. they allow you to run higher boost and provide a more efficient burn which in combination gives you the HP gain.
