Door mirror motor or relays

Well Im back with yet another question to ask the more experienced masses. My door mirrors arent functioning well if at all! (91 300ZXTT 2+0)

The adjustment motors sound very slow and "tinny". Also the japanese fold back mechanism only works on the left to fold "in" but not "out" again. The right does nothing... not even a sound. Does this seem like shot motors or is there a relay somewhere on these cars?

    Thanks for any advice

There are 2 motors per mirror ....

... the fold-in one is a simple motor & gearbox assy. The mirror adjustment unit is more complex.

Both motors (in each mirror) are independantly controlled direct from the centre-console mirror switch unit. Check to see that all wiring is connected to underside of switch block.

There is also a connector (use for continuity testing) on inside of door panel.

See FSM section BF40 for disassembly detail.

    Hope this helps.

    i recently fixed my mirrors.....

spewing i didnt take any pics, but anyway, ever since i've had the zed the mirrors would never fold in. So I pulled them apart and found that the motors in the mirrors had siezed and were full of rust. Also, all the gears in the motor mechanism had rusted and siezed together. What I did was get some working internal mirror bits (thanks to K-Zed and Bob), rip out the motors and all the gears and transplant them to mine. Now my mirrors fold in and out as Mr Nissan intended.

    Cheers
