I wonder if it is legal to get a reflective sticker made up of the number plate and stick it on the bar, have seen them but don't know of the legalities.
Apart from the obvious about it not being mounted in an upright position, why did the previous owner actually drill it into the bottom lip? I have honestly never seen that before. It's also protruding from the front bar (difficult to tell how far from the photo) so that could also attract a defect notice too.
Apparently it was like that from the car's first rego in Aus, so it's gotten away with it for 11 years until I was told I "might" get a defect notice
Yes, it does. Off topic, does your bonnet overlap the centre panel and headlights?? Looks like the front end has been pushed in!
Yeah. It's a good idea. I have a mate in Airlie Beach that does it with his 180sx. Who jacked yours up? The right side of the bonnet (as you're looking at it) appears to sit lower than the left. Does it rattle at high speed?
It does rattle slightly, no noise but you can just notice it, yeah i need new bump rubbers from caz, one has perished on one side which makes it sit a little lower, so much to do
In Victoria its 18m (coppers have worse eyesight obviously) Most members have at some stage seen pics of my zed on the various GOR etc runs ..... my front slimline numberplate is laid well back and is almost at ground level.... To date, I've only been hassled over it once by a young, fresh out of policemans skool junior cunstable..... You can imagine the look on his pimply face when I rang his Officer in charge on his private mobile number.... not what ya know .... but who  never been hassled since over the front plate either locally or interstate :br:
positioned as it is, that plate is a veritable weapon, a samurai sword ....imagine taking a pedestrian out from the front, definitely a case for artificial legs ... i am surprised the boy in blue let you off .....
your front end is all out of allignment... the nose panel doesnt line up with the bonnet, the headlights have different gaps and the bar needs to be fitted right on the drivers side.... that aside.... I'd just make up a bracket and install it normally.. IMHO it does look a bit untidy the way you have it and is definately an achiles injury waiting to happen.... besides, if you hide it under the bar the way it should be its less visible to overhead cameras under those bridges, having it like that is asking for it to be read by those satalites you know they have.. watching you... always!!!!o.0
This is on K1NGZ, a simple modification to some similar brackets could see the numberplate lifted clear of the bar and angled so it actually helps with airflow. Side on view, the gap between the bar and the plate can be made far greater. I intend to change these brackets for another pair I've made so the numbarplate will appear to be "floating" well clear of the front bar. On BADZX I have 30mm under the numberplate at the closest point of contact to the AbFlug front bar, again the plate is angled so it creates a vacume between the bar and the numberplate, this inturn draws additional air. The angle actually will help with pushing the air upwards towards the top part of the FMIC. http://s158.photobucket.com/albums/...OR 2010/?action=view¤t=portcambpell.jpg Kingy
you made me real sad just now... I was just trying to give a little positive critisism but it is.. tell me i'm wrong.. that nose panel isnt sitting right : / besides,, you try being positive when you finish work at 12 and still cant sleep at 230 in the morning... GEEZZUZZZZ!!!!! oh, and to top that off i get a barrage of text messages from some douchbag at 630 in the morning wanting to buy my car today for less than what i have been offered by people who I'd assume typicaly sleep in on saturdays... Off Subject.. Do you think if Jesus was alive today. He would drive a Z?
it doesnt matter what we think if the plate is in a legal place or not,,police from any state in australia are a LAW unto themselves..this is were we all lose ,
It's all one big conspiracy isn't it? A "Wanker" is a "Wanker" regardless of what State he/she happens to reside in. That @#en number plate is suicidal for any poor bastard that is unfortunate enough to be hit by it. Remember the limbs that were lost by those brilliant chromed headlight "eye shades" that used to be all the rage on motorcycles(not to mention those beautiful chrome-winged Swans that used to inhabit FJ Holden bonnets)? But I digress, it's a "1984", "Big Brother is watching" world out there, thank God we will all be processed into Soilent Green.:br::br::rofl:
Wait.... Soylent Green IS People!!!! so thats what all those dodgy trucks have been up2 We have to do something about this!!!!!
AAAARGHHH!!!! my plan failed... Why do I always try and stop these government conspiraces on my own!!!!! someone call 911!!!!
