I have 3 photos here. 1st one is the spring in question:



The second is the area where it has to go:



And the third photo is where I think it might go:



I think it's likely that it attaches to the heater tap but no idea where the other end goes. Does anyone know please?

Your assumption is absolutely correct, I have just spent a day or so upside down working on this exact thing
