discoloured power steering fluid...

I have had 2 mechanics spot out to me that my power steering fluid is not the lovely greeny colour it started but more a brownish one. Is this concerning, if so, can i flush it myself or should i take it somewhere cause im not that mechanically minded.

so you put in a green fluid and it turned brownish??

my fluid colour is redish straight from the bottle.

 

R U sure you dont mean brake fluid?

P.Steering fluid is red out the bottle. Brake fluid green.

If your brake fluid is brown get it changed, its stuffed.

 

you can't go just by colour - my brake and clutch fluids are clear
