hks turbos use the same core with a different compressor wheel . same as the 2860rs but a bolt on with less lag./. sz have tuned a stock z with only injectors and dumps and hks turbos to 649 horse at the wheels.... mine are pushing 450 horse on low boost 14psi... and thats not even half of there potential
yay you almost got it correct about the bigger comp wheel ..just the part about the lag is a forum myth .. prob started on tt.net
Thanks to everyone for their input on this! Gotta say I like the constructive comments and criticism So these two turbos are essentially the same. The Sport 700's appear to spool up a little quicker - possibly a little more power. Black Beast did you consider the Sport 700's by any chance? Is anyone running these on here? Better still is there anyone in Brisbane running either these and would like to give me a ride so I can get an idea of their potential?
I think you are getting a little confused by all the bullshit posts sport 700 /gt28rs /z1 gt675rs are all the same turbo....spool the same I chose the real gt28rs with 3" inlets and because it doesnt use the 3 bolt stock compressor outlet that the sport 700 uses . get the z1 675 instead of the sport 700 compare http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_16&products_id=94 http://www.specialtyz.com/turbos_jwtsport700s.htm
its restrictive.. its fine up to gt28r but I wouldn't use it on from gt28rs onwards. garrett made the gt28rs with nearly 3" inlets and 2" outlets for a reason because it flows very well all the rest were just modified to fit the z32 inlet and outlet.
your looking at the wrong thing you cant compare dyno graphs by different tuners look at the difference in compressor housing outlets
Beast is correct, the compressor outlet nozzle on the GT28RS and Z1 kit is 45mm diameter The 3 bolt outlet is 38mm. The COZ GT28RS/GT2860 kit has a 3 bolt outlet I wouldnt buy. This 3 bolt outlet has NO place on a high performance turbo. If you are UPGRADNG to the GT28RS CHRA, dump the 3 bolt compressor housing. Its rubbish on a turbo this big.
