just finished my plenum pull and knock sensor relocation can you guys tell me if my timing looks right, this was at idle. By Inkar and another thing my car now takes a bit longer to start than usual it cranks for about 5 seconds then starts, what could be causing it?
Idles set too high methinks, AAC should be at least 15% from what I've heard? Meaning your idle is too high. Timing through consult is only what the ecu commands remember, so 15 @ idle looks fine. Your MAF reading should go down once you fix your idle. TPS is fine@0.46 I guess, maybe try 0.45 if you can. If you have an auto then definitely make sure it's 0.45 spot on, as this completely messes with everything auto related.
Can't give a definite answer to that one, but that's about what mine sits at too (109), and I don't have any fuel / knocking issues (that I am aware of lol) so IMHO I think you should be fine. Someone else with a few more brain cells than I could answer that though, I'd like to know too!
Looks more like a vacuum leak, the AAC would need to be over 20 to get idle that high. Through datascan you can only set TPS to 0.44 or 0.46 not 0.45. Only shows increments of 0.02.
If you set your base idle too low the AAC will kick in higher to compensate. If you set your base idle too high the AAC will drop back so it is not compensating as much (meaning when you do need it it still has room to open and catch the falling revs). This is just based on my own observations though, you may have read it straight from the FSM so your words could have more merit than mine I thought so! I think ECUTalk does that too...
Your first posted image is miles apart from the second one you posted... When were they screenshotted? Does your car's idle hunt around alot..?
the first one was taken last night 23rd and the second one was taken today 24th. I should of metioned that i had a 2.5 catback exhaust fitted just before taking the second screenshot.
The timing is not the true timing of the engine. The program assumes that your base timing is set at 15 degrees and then displays the timing that the engine would be seeing if the base timing was set at 15. Need to get a timing light on it if ya want to check it
