hey guys just want to ask a quick question about the z seats knowing that they r 20 years old my seat moves the littlest bit and i got pulled over and handed a $250 fine WTF !!! now it does not move were it gets bolted to the car it moves at the back rest part where the due to the seat being old ?? just want to know is there a easy way to fix this or was the copper just being a **** head
That really sucks. I think most Z's (and many other cars for that matter) at this age have some movement in the seats. Did you provoke him? Some are just wankers lets face it.
nar no provoking needed..... he drive past me and then the lights come on and pulled me over and said mate can u pop the hood... OMg NOO!!! yeah got done for blow off vales, front bar, to low( even tho its 100 mm from the ground), seat movement, ohh and my fav my exzorst ( witch has been teasted at 89 dbls) my bad coming home from work and due to having more then 4 defects it cost me 350 to tow it home ><
bunch of fkn wankers ive copt a canary for that once too but all zed seats have movement in the back rest and mine are in perfect condition. I didn do anythin with the seat just went and cleared the canary....
make sure the seat is bolted down at all 4 properly. Also check the latch which locks the back rest in place make sure that is strong and doesnt move.
yeah i just pulled my seat out to check if i needed to tighten anything up but its all tight and still has a bit of movment >< ill just havce to see how i go at the place when i get it cleared
Man that's bloody retarded but at least he didn't get you solely for that. Get permits for your defects so you can shove it in his face next time, my seats have movement too but no cop has ever looked inside my z nor under the bonnet, they're usually happy at carbon fibre bonnet and ride height.
i recently got defected for my wahsers not working. yet the spastic didnt notice my missing an exhaust tip. its revenue raising crap. he wobbled my seat but didnt write that down. guess its a good excuse to put some racing seats in ?
I reckon I could find more than 4 defect on your zed Baz Or anyones for that matter... What annoys me is that none of the defects are a serious safety issue. Sure if you have a cut up chassis, or cable tied your steering arms to your hubs or something similar you shouldn't be able to drive that another foot. But if you are a bit loud, a bit low you should be able to drive it back home at the very least. It shouldn't matter the number of minor defects if it is as a whole quite safe.
there are cars straight out of factory that they hav taken to pits and found defects... cops are scum. and ppl seem to forget they are HUMAN not some form of super spices that are here to save the world. i see heap of shit falling apart old camarys and corollas that dont even get looked at twice by cops. coz there so common and ordinary looking. but that dosnt make them any less dangerous then a sports car that is 2 loud....:bash: they demand our respect with fear. and some ppl just dont no the difrence.
I got defected for bald tyres, bad brakes and loud exhaust. The first two fair enough i was getting them changed anyway but the exhaust he was quite confident that it wouldn't pass, took it to a mates shop and he cleared my defect completely even though my exhaust was something like 93-94dB. I now keep a folder in my car with all reciepts and defect notices along with safety certs etc. In the end it doesn't matter, any defects i get i can clear for $30.
i had a cop pull me over and almost shout at me, telling me that he will not leave until he finds something to defect me on. Also told me i was bullshitting when i said i had no mods done to the engine. He spent a good 20 minutes going between his car and my car trying to find things wrong with it. He didn't pay any attention to the seats tho becuase mine have a bit of movement to, he also couldn't find the seatbelt :rofl:
Wow wtf mate that's shit, zed is normally low to the ground dont forget so can prob right that one off, if the zorst has been already tested they cant fail you for that, also unless he tested it then and there they have to send you off to get it tested cant just go oh that's a defect? Pretty sure seat movement a little bit is fine also. Just as long as it is not too much. Sounds like a classic cop having a ego / power trip.
Thing is you still have to pay for the $30? Still revenue raising for something that is nothing wrong with your car....
Hey if your car is defective, it's defective. If you want to drive a 20 year old car make sure it's roadworthy and safe, then they can't touch you, otherwise suck it up boys and girls. "The car is old" is no excuse. And I reckon they get their fair share of corolla's and camry's too. If you think you have been hard done by there are avenues to take. Also these f__ken wankers are the same ones that have to pull dead teenagers out of car wrecks, so maybe they might get a little over the top occasionally. Probably the first people you call when your car gets stolen.
