I do not see why they would be illegal...some Audi's and HSV's i believe come with it from factory...i would put them on my zed. Maybe try getting the same thing but in a strip so you can put it inside the headlight.

They are legal, and also great to help reduce oncoming driver fatigue.

phillips have a t10 DRL light that they are not bringing into australia. pretty annoying as it replaces your standard t10 bulb and is bright as hell and once you flick your headlights on they dim down.

dealer cost price was $180 for a pair so they are not bringing them in. i keep trolling ebay for them

I have similar SMB LED on my Jeep no problem what so ever completely legal. I wired it to a separate switch which I put in just for that. If in case they pull me over for it I can just flick the switch having said that I have been driving around with it in front of cops no one said anything

I think it on RAC website says something like "as long as its on the side and not flashing its all good'

these are the LED without the DRL feature... BUT!!

jump on ebay and type in DRL module and plenty come up.

otherwise look online and it will show you how to make one.

ADR76 has the info you need.
    http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/F2006L02306
According to that, they cannot be less than 400cd, nor more than 800cd.

However, according to ADR45, it is 130cd to 520cd.

I read once before that the ADR's state that they cannot be on at the same time as your headlights.

    So, put in two relays:
If ignition on and headlights off, then DRL's on.

This is what I am doing with my 370.

I have a small set that I wanted to put on the 370, and I have a saved item in my EBay account for a set that goes on the 300.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/220874353579?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

The problem I see is that there is no mention on whether they are CE approved (thus by extension, possibly ADR approved). If you are not concerned, then these look like they may be ok.

No, I have not bought the set for the 300.

Edit: These are what I got for the 370: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/White-8-...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35b84203c3

They're not legal in SA, that's for sure.
Then again, nothing's legal in SA.
Defected for a dirty windscreen like a boss.
