I think 16" is the biggest people run - lotsa people running the DC one - I think a comparo was done somewhere

take a look at the amps it draws in normal operation, by putting a resistor or something in series with it, and measuring the voltage across the resistor, then compare that with the fan of a different manufacturer... the resistor would have to be designed to dissipate that many watts of power though if you were to do that...

In my experience thermo fans dont work well on TT's.
If you have an NA you would be best to buy a set of twim thermos off an ef/el/au falcon and make them fit. (na has a wider radiator than tt).

You can fit a 16inch thermo on the tt radiator but its not good enough to keep it cool in hot weather with aircon.

if you could find an 18 inch fan or so that might do the trick (very hard to find).

i've tried many brands and failed. apparently the spal brand is really good but costs like $300

bluecube i think you are right , i run a 16" thermo on my NA without any problem at all but have heard on here that others have problems and suspect its a TT thing.

I've got a 16" Davies Craig thermo on a PWR twinpass 42mm TT rad in my NA. No problems keeping it cool

Running a 16" on my TT!

But I run no aircon and an upgraded radiator and see no temps higher than mid 90's. If you plan to go to a Thermo on a TT, and still want air con, in my experience go for an upgraded radiator first and no shroud. The thermo worked fine on the stock radiator temp wise but as soon as we fitted the shroud the temp went up. And it would heat up with the air con on also. The shroud/thermo combo seemed restrict the flow at speed. Jason and Carl also found similar problems with the thermo, shroud arrangement on the TT:confused: .

Since the fitment of a larger aftermarket radiator the temp is nice and cool with the thermo and is controlled by the switch to come on and go off at 79 degrees.:D

I was gonna get that. Ash told me he makes them to order, in other words he doesn't have them in stock. After all the trouble I went through with Ash about my smic's and piping I just CBF going through that again. I opted to go for the Koyo rad and keep the stock clutch fan.

SPAL do a skewed blade 16" fan which is very good and probably better than davies craig. You may/may not need a shroud depending on your setup, i ran old style twinpass UAS (less efficient than newer style cores) and spal thermo on road car with no shroud for a while and did not have any problems. The only hard part was getting the switching point for the thermo correct.

Ive got a SPAL skewed blade thermofan, flows 3000cfm. Superior to any DC fan currently on the market. $410 installed, available through PWR distributors
